Missouri License Library

Every Missouri license type,
with the CE hours and cycle behind it.

A curated reference for K-12 educators working in Missouri. Each row shows the required professional development clock hours (and any industry-credit carve-outs), accepted college semester hours, renewal cycle, and the public DESE Educator Certification citation that backs the numbers — so a recertification window never opens with a guessing game.

About this reference

Seeded from public DESE Educator Certification guidance — owner-maintained

The rows below are seeded from publicly available Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education certification guidance. The full dataset lives in one editable TypeScript module — src/lib/business/mo-license-types.ts — so anyone maintaining the CredenSync educator experience can refresh the numbers, add a new pathway, or update a citation without touching the page itself.

When a number is uncertain, this page shows rather than guessing. Treat the rows as a starting point: the citation in each row links to the underlying public source, and the linked DESE Educator Certification page is the authoritative reference for any individual case.

How to read this

Each row tells the same five-part story

The library groups Missouri educator license types by pathway so the renewal rules for a CTE instructor read next to the renewal rules for a principal — instead of getting lost inside a single undifferentiated list.

Hours & classes
The PD clock hours required across the cycle and the college semester hours the Missouri DESE accepts in their place. A dash means the pathway gates on completion of a program, not a numeric total.
Cycle length
How many years the certificate holds before renewal is due. Missouri's standard CCPC renews on a 5-year cycle; the Initial Professional Certificate is a 4-year bridge that cannot be renewed.
Public source
Every row links to the DESE Educator Certification page that backs the numbers. When the state updates a rule, the citation is the first place to look — not this page.
